Transfer to Cusco:

- 18:30 : Arrival in Cusco. The final drop-off point will be at Plaza Regocijo, one block from Plaza de Armas.
Day 3: CUSCO - CUSIPATA - MOUNTAIN OF COLORS - RED VALLEY - CUSCO
Detailed itinerary of the Rainbow Mountain excursion
Early pick-up: Our team will pick you up at your hotel between 4:30 and 5:00 am. Alternatively, you can meet us directly at our office at 5:00 am.
Departure from Cusco:
Once all participants have gathered, we will leave Cusco at 5:15 am to begin the two-hour trip to the town of Cusipata.
Breakfast in Cusipata: Upon arrival in Cusipata, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast at a local restaurant, with plenty of time to relax before continuing.
Travel to the Entry Point: After breakfast, we will continue by vehicle for approximately one more hour to the access point to Rainbow Mountain, where an entrance fee of 30 soles must be paid.
Hike to the Rainbow Mountain: The hike starts at the checkpoint and takes approximately 1.5 hours, gradually ascending from 4,700m to reach 5,100m at the summit. Here, you will have time to take photographs, listen to the guide’s explanations and interact with local residents. You will enjoy approximately one hour at the summit.
Red Valley optional: After admiring the views of the colorful mountain, you can choose to explore the stunning Red Valley. The entrance fee is 20 soles extra. Alternatively, you can return along the same trail you ascended. The return hike through the Red Valley takes between 1 and 1.5 hours to reach the vehicle meeting point.
Lunch in Cusipata: Once we are all back in the vehicle, we will head to Cusipata to enjoy a buffet lunch around 1:30 pm.
Return to Cusco: After lunch we will begin the return trip to Cusco, estimating our arrival between 4:30 and 5:00 pm.

Visit to the Uros Islands (45 minutes): Explore these ancient floating islands, home to the Uros community, with an English and Spanish-speaking guide who will share the unique lifestyle of the inhabitants.
- The Uros are an indigenous community made up of more than 40 islands, all built by their inhabitants from totora, which is used for the construction of their homes, boats (rafts), as fuel and even as food.
- On this tour, you will visit the main island and explore 2 or 3 additional islands (around 30 minutes each). There is also the option to take a ride on traditional totora boats.

If you only pay the deposit, the remaining balance must be paid at our office in Cusco, at least 24 hours before the tour. You can pay in soles or dollars in cash, or by card (3.9% charge). You can also pay online with a 2.9% fee. -

You can choose to pay in full for the tour when booking. If you need to cancel, we will refund the full amount minus the $180 USD deposit.
