Day 1: Panoramic tour and hike to Aguas Calientes
Experience the stunning landscapes on day 1 of our Machu Picchu driving tour, which includes a scenic drive to Hidroeléctrica, a delicious local lunch at Hidroeléctrica, and a 3-hour hike to Aguas Calientes.
On the first day of our Machu Picchu driving tour, we will start the tour at the Machu Picchu Reservation Office at 6:30 AM in Cusco for a 6-hour scenic drive to Hidroeléctrica. Along the way, we will stop at Hidroeléctrica to enjoy a delicious lunch. After lunch, we will continue the 3-hour hike to Aguas Calientes.
Prepare for a scenic 3-hour, 11km hike on flat terrain to the base village of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, we’ll take you to your hotel, where you can refresh and relax. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner in the village and get ready for an exciting day of exploring Machu Picchu.

On the second day of our 2-day Machu Picchu tour by car, you have the option to either walk or take a bus to the citadel. If you choose to take the bus, you will need to purchase a ticket in Aguas Calientes for $12. Those who prefer to walk should begin their ascent at 4:30 a.m. after breakfast to arrive at the main entrance by 6 a.m.
Regardless of the mode of transportation you choose, the meeting point will be at the main entrance of Machu Picchu at 6 a.m. Your guide will lead you on a tour of the Inca site and share with you the history and anecdotes behind this iconic place. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the area on your own.
After visiting Machu Picchu, begin your return trip to Cusco by starting the hike from the citadel to Hidroeléctrica at around 10:00 a.m. The hike will take approximately 3.5 hours, allowing you to arrive at Hidroeléctrica in time to board the car to Cusco between 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The trip from Hidroeléctrica to Cusco will take approximately 6 hours, during which you can relax and reflect on your incredible experience at Machu Picchu. Upon arrival in Cusco, you will have completed your memorable 2-day Machu Picchu tour by car.

Additional activities such as hiking to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. These hikes require separate entrance tickets and are subject to availability, so it is best to book in advance.
Additionally, if you want to climb any of the mountains, it’s best to spend an extra night in Aguas Calientes. This will give you more time to explore Machu Picchu and complete the additional hikes without feeling rushed. Staying an extra night will also allow you to have a more relaxed experience and time to enjoy the town and its surroundings.

The student price is available to all students worldwide, provided they meet the requirements established by the Peruvian government. This discount is applicable when purchasing tickets to Machu Picchu through the Peruvian government.
TO QUALIFY FOR THE STUDENT PRICE, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
Your student ID must be an original ID issued by your university, made of PVC material.

The student ID must have a valid expiration date printed on it, which is only valid for one year. For example, if you are visiting Machu Picchu in 2023, your ID’s expiration date must be 2023 or 2024. If you are visiting Machu Picchu in 2023, the maximum expiration date allowed is 2024.

The International Student Identification Card (ISIC) is not valid for the discount, even if you meet the requirements mentioned above.

The only valid document for payment of the student fee is the original ID that meets the requirements established by the Peruvian government. Other documents such as certifications or virtual ID cards are not accepted as proof of student status.

Booking is a simple and secure process. We accept any debit or credit card (with an additional 2.9% fee), or if you are a customer in the United States, you can pay from a bank account without additional fees.

To secure your reservation, we require an advance payment of $70 USD. This non-refundable deposit helps obtain the necessary permits and tickets from the Peruvian government. You can also choose to pay 100% of the tour cost up front for a worry-free experience. -
Remaining balance
If you only pay the deposit, the remaining balance must be paid at our office in Cusco, at least 24 hours before the tour. You can pay in soles or dollars in cash, or by card (3.9% charge). You can also pay online with a 2.9% fee. -
Full Payment Option
You can choose to pay the full amount of the tour when you book. If you need to cancel, we will refund the full amount minus the $70 USD deposit.
