Day 1: Cusco to Santa Maria Adventure: 65km Biking and 1.5 hours of exciting river rafting
We will start the day by picking up our travelers from their hotel around 6 a.m. and departing towards the impressive Sacred Valley of the Incas. During the journey, you will enjoy spectacular views of the Vilcabamba and Vilcanota mountain ranges, along with the charming little villages that adorn the valley.
After a drive of approximately 2 hours, we will make a stop at the ancient Inca city of Ollantaytambo. Here you can enjoy a delicious included breakfast, stretch your legs and use the facilities. Once you feel refreshed, we will continue our journey to the Abra Malaga Pass, located at 4,350 meters (14,271 feet) above sea level. This is the starting point of our exciting downhill cycling adventure to Santa Maria, which is located at 1,430 meters (4,691 feet).
At Abra Málaga, you will be provided with all the necessary cycling equipment and take part in a short training session to ensure a safe and enjoyable ride. The bike trail will offer you mesmerising views of the imposing snow-capped Veronica Peak, and we will stop at the fascinating Inca site of Huamanmarca for lunch and a quick exploration of these small but impressive ruins.
After our time in Huamanmarca, we will continue by car to Santa Maria, where the excitement does not stop. In the afternoon, get ready for an adventurous whitewater rafting experience, enjoying the stunning natural environment that surrounds you.
Upon arrival in Santa Maria, you will check into your accommodation, take a shower and relax before meeting up for dinner at a local restaurant. The evening will be the perfect time to enjoy a delicious meal and share stories from an action-packed day.

Day 2: From Santa Maria to Santa Teresa: 22 km panoramic walk through Quellomayo
Start the day with a hearty breakfast around 6:00 a.m., setting the stage for one of the most memorable hikes of the adventure. After a 45-minute drive along a road route, we will enter the original Inca Trail, which once linked Machu Picchu with Vilcabamba, the last Inca capital.
As we follow this ancient path, you will pass through lush plantations of bananas, coca, yuca and coffee, while enjoying stunning views of the Vilcanota Valley and jungle-covered hills. After approximately 3 hours, we will arrive at the village of Quellomayo, where we will stop for lunch and have the opportunity to relax.
The trip continues with a 3.5 hour hike along the Vilcanota River to the hot springs of Colcamayo , a perfect place to dip into natural pools and relax your muscles. After a couple of hours here, we will walk another 45 minutes to Santa Teresa, where you will stay in a cozy hostel and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3: From Santa Teresa to Aguas Calientes: Exciting 2-hour zipline adventure and 10km scenic hike
Start your day early at 6:30 a.m. with a hearty breakfast and get ready for a day full of excitement. At 8:00 a.m., you’ll be picked up for a thrilling zipline adventure. After a brief orientation, you’ll soar down four thrilling ziplines and across a suspension bridge, where you’ll spend approximately two hours in the air.
After the zipline experience, enjoy a one-hour drive to Hidroeléctrica , where a delicious lunch awaits you. From there, embark on a 3-hour scenic walk along the train tracks, admiring the beautiful surroundings as you head to Hot Waters.
Once in Aguas Calientes, check into your hotel to rest and refresh. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant before settling in for the night and preparing for the next day’s exploration of Machu Picchu .

- Hike: A scenic 1.5-hour uphill hike, starting around 4:30 a.m., with a checkpoint at
Puente Ruinas where you’ll show your ticket and passport before ascending 1,700 steps to the main entrance. - Bus : Purchase a $12 ticket for a 30-minute bus ride. The first bus leaves at 5:30 a.m. Either way, you’ll meet your guide and group at 6:00 a.m. to begin exploring Machu Picchu.

- Mountain Machu Picchu : A more challenging hike, taking at least 3 hours round trip, and also costs $60. It’s ideal if you have extra time or prefer a tougher hike.
If you plan to climb any of the mountains, it is recommended to return to Cusco by train to have a more relaxed schedule. Another option is to spend an additional night in Aguas Calientes and return by car from Hidroeléctrica the next day.
Return options:
- By car: walk back to Hidroeléctrica for 3 to 3.5 hours, leaving at 10:30 a.m. to catch the 2:30 p.m. car. The 6-hour trip to Cusco will take you back around 9:30pm.
- By train: After visiting Machu Picchu, walk or take a bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch and to collect your belongings. Take the 14:30 or 14:55 train to Ollantaytambo (1.5 hours), where a transfer will take you back to Cusco (2 hours by car), arriving around 6:30 pm.

Requirements for the student discount:
To qualify for the student rate, travelers must meet the following conditions:
- Age Requirement: Must be under 25 years old.
- Requirements for the student card:
- It must be a physical plastic card (similar to a credit card).
- The information printed on the card must include:

- Validity date (the card must not expire before the date of your visit).
- ISIC Cards: NOT accepted. The Peruvian government does not recognize the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) for student discounts at Machu Picchu.

Booking the Inca Jungle Trail (4 days) to Machu Picchu is easy and can be done through a secure online platform. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Payment options:
- Credit/Debit Cards: You can use any debit or credit card, with a 2.9% processing fee applied.
- Bank Account (US Customers): Customers in the US have the option to pay directly from a bank account with no additional fees.
2. Reservation prepayment:
To reserve your spot, a non-refundable prepayment of $180 per person is required. This prepayment is used for:
- Buy your entrance tickets to Machu Picchu immediately.
- Secure your accommodation.
3. Payment of the balance:
- The remaining balance can be paid upon arrival in Cusco at least 24 hours before your tour begins.
- Payment methods:
- In cash (soles or dollars).
- With card with 3.9% commission.
- Online payment via the website (2.9% commission).
4. Full payment option:
You may choose to pay the full cost of the tour upfront during booking. If you cancel, your refund will be the full amount minus the $180 non-refundable deposit.
